What facts? Dude wrote a thesis based on a rumor that another blogger mentioned during a podcast that was picked up and ran with by yet another blogger but no one has any actual facts. they don;t even have a source it is all "I heard"...lazy fukks can't even be bothered to use "unnamed sources" like real gossip bloggers do. Comic blogs have figured out that posting a story that puts WB/DC movies/Superman v Batman in particular in a bad light gets them shytloads of clicks. So they come up with stuff like this to get the fanboys all angry because most of the people who eat this shyt up already have a clear bias against WB/DC movies to begin with and want to believe any rumor that comes along.the anger from towards the messenger while failing to address the facts detailed
What type of pcp was Adam West on?
I didn't read the article, but anyone with even a modicum of intelligence or critical thinking could already tell that this was probably already a mandate up at DC. Whether it's in writing or not is another thing.
It's a pretty basic idea, Marvel is zigging (light hearted and fun), so DC is zagging (darker and "real").
you could only take it so far though. "real" goes out the window once you fully embrace these caped superheroes and their cooky powers. there's no way for characters like superman and batman to co-exist in the same universe unless you're willing to have some fun with it.
look at the teaser thing they released at comic con even. they got batman wearing his dark knight returns mech suit for god sakes. there's no fukkin way this movie is gonna take itself as seriously as MOS did.
I think the angle they're taking is the "Gods amongst Men" angle.
You're right, you can look at cooky powers and have the world react like "Wow, look at all these cool aliens" which is Marvel's thing. DC is going for more of the Greek God/Semi-Religious thing, which is why in Man of Steel Superman was basically Jesus. All of that religious allegory and symbolism serves the "Gods amongst Men" thing.
You can look up at Superman and do the whole "It's a bird, it's a plane..." thing, with everyone clapping and cheering for them, rooting them on, but I think if done right, the "God help us, there are flying men and psycho's in bat suits chasing criminals" angle could be really interesting.

So again I ask just what are these facts that are supposed to be discussed.
The montage of batman watching the (needless ) destruction caused in man of steel in the batcave while building a new suit to battle this new dangerous alienthankfully i don't buy this report for a second. all evidence so far points to this movie being lighter. from batman appearing in an all out comic inspired costume to batman fighting superman in a robotic mech suit.

the dc universe was never meant to be like our own world though.
metropolis and gotham city are not real places. they do not exist in our world. they exist in a place that MIRRORS our world. a place that PARALLELS our world.
TDK told it's "real world" batman story and MOS told it's "real world" superman story... but neither of those movies could feasibly co-exist in the same universe. if superman would have dropped by in the middle of tdk to help batman it would have been a laughingstock. conversely though... the idea that during MOS there also existed a masked vigilante in the next town over who dresses up like a bat and chases down bad guys is equally as silly.
if wb/dc aren't willing to have a little fun with these characters they may as well not even bother.

If you thought that was long then you must have ADD,*reads long, passionate reply* Who is angry here, friend?
There is a huge difference between a mandate of "NO JOKES!!!" and making the creative decision to play in a different lane than the other comic book companies movies travel in.I didn't read the article, but anyone with even a modicum of intelligence or critical thinking could already tell that this was probably already a mandate up at DC.
