it's notDrake's gone through a couple deals now, so the catalog got to be segmented. Some of his songs he probably makes very little, and on some he making what he normally should for a big artist.
j is not gettin shyt from drake..
Not to be pocket watching, but if Prince/Rap-A-Lot are getting 50% of Drake's checks, and the label is getting their cut, Birdman/Wayne are presumably getting a cut, and the OVO Writing Sweatshop has to get paid, I hope for Drayoncé's sake that he invested whatever he takes home after taxes wisely. Knew he was signed to multiple people but Jesus Christ if this is true I can see why the powers that be told TDE to stop in order for their cash cow to provide them more milk.
Suge Knight is behind bars probably saying to himself "Why haven't I thought of this"

"He was managing Floyd Mayweather in the late 90s to early 00s. Floyd's fight with Philip Ndou was scheduled a couple weeks after Prince's contract with Floyd ran out, so Prince didn't get his 20% of Floyd's $3m payday. Prince apparently sent guys to Floyd's gym in Vegas and pummeled some of Floyd's group with bats, leaving the floor splattered with blood. Floyd went to Bob Arum and Arum paid Prince his $600k"

In June 2018, Variety assessed what type of deal Drake could command once his obligations to UMG were fulfilled and outlined several possibilities, including a rich touring deal. But with the coronavirus pandemic wiping out concerts for most of 2020 and 2021, and the frenzied buy-sell of artist catalogs — at multiples north of 20x in some cases — the environment is ripe for UMG to lock down its most successful artist by “renegotiating and paying him a lot of money,” offers one industry observer with knowledge of similar deals.
