BET was influential in Jin getting signed to Ruff Ryders. His whole buzz was based off winning consecutive Freestyle Fridays. I think he and Posta Boy had the record. So yeah, he was going to get a segment over Drag even though Drag was prime RR and Jin dropped during the decline.
they dont talk about Drag-On? thats weird. i've only seen the first 2 or 3 and i saw him in there talking about Eve and other shyt but no mention of him yet. i mean he at least deserves a quick flash of his album cover and maybe a 2 second clip of one of his singles but Drag's overall impact wasnt that major

in retrospect tho...Drag-On might be the GOAT :lupe:

how come Ruff Ryders thread got 8 pages
No Limit did 100+

nikkas prefer bouncy bamma music over street nikkas in timbs spitting bars

always been that way

look at the current climate of the industry

This shyt just wasn't as compelling. Like somebody else said, it seem like Waah and da rest of em all held back on a lot of details for one. And 2, they didn't dive nearly as deep as they could have. It was still entertaining tho.

They could of highlighted the ruff ryders compilations vol 1-3 were major to keep the name out and create a buzz for new acts

they could of also went into the mid 2000s with the lox solo projects

also Dmx did alright with “who we be” “we right here” “get it in the floor”...they should of showed some longevity in the music side of things by focusing on that and the jada and styles debut albums

Had to make time for the "Young Ryders" lol

Did Cassidy release something on Ruff Ryders?

Yea he had 3 RR albums, was basically shining during their decline. I guess it’s cause it was a joint venture with Full Surface like one of the other posters said.

Also, agree on why this got less pages than the No Limit thread. They didn’t dive nearly deep enough with stuff like No Limit did. Still a good doc though.

None of his albums were released by Ruff Ryders. They came out on Swizz label. So did Yung Wun album. Check Discogs if you dont believe me.

Like I said, the No Limit thread was mostly people arguing back and forth, which is the main reason for the discrepancy in amount of posts. Go back and read the thread. nikkas are arguing for pages and pages.

nolimit threads always do numbers though. A lot of people on thecoli are from the south and flock to those threads, myself included.

nolimits popularity far exceeds RR.

In fact if they do documentaries on Rocafella, Cashmoney, G-unit etc it would do bigger numbers then RR.

This.

There is a thread on Pimp C being pistol whipped by Master P that is bigger than this thread. It's a thread on one isolated incident involving No Limit and its bigger than this thread.

Oh no question. I’m just saying the discrepancy in how big the gap is a product of a lot of debating and arguing. There would still be a gap just probably not this huge.

Add on to the fact, they left out so many things in the RR documentary that would’ve made it more interesting. This RR documentary was pretty drama free (aka boring) when they weren’t talking about DMX.

People don’t understand just how huge nolimit was. I understand though. If you’re from the east coast, you most likely gravitate to the Ruff Ryders more.

Southern fans fiend for that nolimit stuff. You have small YouTube communities dedicated to them with loyal listeners.

Horrible. This and No Love 4 Me (another X/Drag duet) had such brutally bad casio alarm beats, Swizz should be slapped on his crooked banana nose for this shyt
