Also, Israel has nukes, and Syria doesn't. It would be stupid for Syria to launch a massive military operation to recover the entire Golan heights, since they would get nuked and pulverized in seconds.
The article never said anything about the mortars being from the government. Why would the Syrian Gov even shoot mortars at Israel in the Golan Heights since Syrians are still there stuck in the middle? Israel makes alot of excuses of what they can't bring evidence to. They say something and people believe it.
