i like to not think about this comparison.
as both damaged their physiology, and made them susceptible to lose.
of which only robinson consistently excelled in the art of damaging his physiology via cutting weight.

both are my favorite boxers in history and i just don't subscribe to the marvel what if scenario when both are concerned.

You're thinking at the end..Roy was a middleweight once. Roy was just unstoppable and Ray was knocking motherfukkers heads off. Truth be told, I have never seen anything as fast and as accurate as Roy Jones in boxing history.
:to:

That's my GOAT right there. Too bad moving up to HW and back down to LHW messed him up.

Yep.

I used the wrong smiley too, I meant to use :ohlawd: to show agreement.

Prime Roy Jones Jr beats everyone from 148-175 in Boxing History to me.

The first 4 rounds for Roy Jones vs Telasco doesn't even look human. It's absurd for someone's hands and reflexes to be that fast and spot on.

This is one fight i wish we could go in a time machine to see between them in their prime. Hard for me to bet against Roy but many say that Sugar Ray is the greatest of all time and from the little footage that is out there of him you can see that he was a monster.

Didn't Roy jones fail a PEd test as he made his move up to Heavyweight?
I'm taking Sugar Ray.
The only time I saw a Prime Roy Jones having problems was during the Montell Griffin fight.
I actually had Griffin up by a point going into the 9th round before the DQ.

You wrong he didn't fail on PED when he moved up to HW. He failed one time when he fought Richard Hall but Richard Hall also failed and levels were way higher. Jones claims it was the product Ripped Fuel he was taking which was legal at the time. Later it was noted by Roy's trainer Coach Merk that Jones has bad sinuses and he was taking a nasal spray for his sinuses. Jones never tested positive before that fight or after that fight.

jones was known to play down to his competition and was often criticized for not opening up on his opponents like he could have

same shyt he did in the rematch he could've done at anytime against griffien, which is why he chose to knock him down when he did

nobody was fukking with jones back then he was too physically gifted

This is true, however...

Ripped Fuel wasn't a completely legal substance. It was legal for WBA and WBC, but not the IBF. The IBF was just the newest belt he had, and Jones was already a star (plus Hall had way more than Jones) so they gave him a pass. If Roy didn't have the IBF belt, this wouldn't have even been an issue.

It's almost like smoking. Smoking is legal, however there are certain places where you can't smoke. You do it there, you'll have to pay a fine. Do it anywhere else, then it's a non issue.

To this day, ripped fuel is still an unknown. We know it causes a chain reaction that causes growth to one's muscle mass. But nobody still knows yet whether the effect is direct or indirect :manny:

I guess that's why eventually it was pulled off the shelves.
