Former three division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (59-8, 42KOs), 46-years-old, is going to continue his career on March 6th at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in North Carlina, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer. The fight was scheduled for March 7th, but it got pushed back a day and had a venue switch by local promoters. The opponent will be fringe cruiserweight fighter Willie Williams of Baltimore, who has a record of 14-8-2 and 4 knockouts. Williams believes Jones is way past his best and plans to send the aging veteran into retirement

Lebedev, Huck, Hernandez, and Drozd.......... Does anyone think Roy has ANY chance against any of the 4 names mentioned?

Mind you, Lebedev already KO'd him............

Even Roy gave Lebedev some problems in their first fight and he wasn't in the best of shape then. Now that Roy stay's busy in the gym training other fighters he's been in better shape his last couple of fights. He wanted to rematch Lebedev but they turned him down. I would give him 50-50 chance in the rematch. As for the other guys who knows this is boxing anything can happened. Roy got a lot of experience in the game maybe he could pull off something if he wants it bad enough.

But I dont mind him beating up on cans and staying busy since he loves to fight and apparently is getting paid well so why not keep paddng your record:ehh:

50/50 chance in the rematch?:dwillhuh:

It's okay breh...sometimes it's hard for us stans to let go and realize our guy is done at the top tier level:to:

RJJ can beat the journeymen, but him vs a gatekeeper is a 50/50 fight at this point....him going against the best of the division is no good for him::mjcry:

True that, to me Roy's been done since the 2nd fight with Tarver. :sadbron: But I am going to support the man as long as he still trying to achieve a goal even if it may be unfeasible.
:flabbynsick:

Still my GOAT

Why is he still fighting?

He likes to fight and he likes being out in the limelight. Boxing is his easiest way to pay off them tax bills. Yes he has commentary job with HBO but he's not seeing the kind of money he was seeing from boxing. Even though he's been fighting these dudes in Europe he was making a pretty good chunk of change from those fights. Since people over there think he's a legend and will pay to see him. Over here not so much
