I think he's a better quarterback than Andy Dalton is. However, I don't know if the contract language supports this but we know that they promised Dalton the starting position. To the point that they put this tweet out in March.
We may clown the Red Rifle but he's had a career most NFL players would dream OF having. It would have been nice to have a real qb competition but the Bears brass isn't about to burn their credibility on a bait and switch. That resonates with free agents in the future as well the careers of Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace. Andy might have the tightest of ropes but the Bears are going to go through honoring their part of the deal with Dalton being QB1 on Week 1.
