i always wondered what people mean by lyrical. is it about the meaning of lyrics or is it the rhyme schemes and multis? or maybe a combination of both? does it have to include social commentary? what exactly is a rhyme scheme/multis and is it use to put emphasis on the lyricism?

A multi is a multi-syllable rhyme. For instance

Hip Hop's my tee-pee, I'm the chief of this rap game
Meditatin, blazin reef on these speeches to blast brains
Slain fast, cane flow overdose pass through my veins
Acid rain corrode your whole left side, no fast lane

The first three bars have a 2 syllable rhyme scheme, there is also an inside multi with the Chief and Reef part, and a reverse multi with Slain fast.

The rest of the go off a three syllable, but it can get infinitely complex depending on your skill and what you wanna say.

Me and rhyme king have had this argument before.

I agree with you. Those are multisyllable rhymes, because they are rhyming multiple syllables together.

But in rhyme king's opinion, a multisyllable rhyme has to use multisyllable words (words with more than 1 syllable in them) - so stringing together a bunch of single syllable rhymes doesn't count in his opinion.
