they started gassing Ronda up as "the greatest female fighter of all time, a once in a lifetime fighter, etc." when she only had less than 10 professional fights to her name and most people bought it. once the UFC realized that the suckers bought the hype, that's when the media campaign started for her and she was sent out to every talk show, appearances in movies, winning awards at the ESPY's and calling out Floyd for no reason, etc.. she was told that she was the best despite never really proving it and everyone in the media just shook their heads up and down and agreed with it.
can't fault the UFC for seizing the opportunity to create and milk a cash cow, but people really need to start looking past the smoke and mirrors in situations like this. anyone who half follows boxing/UFC knew that Holm was going to beat her, but the media made it out to be a "historical upset". why? because THEY promoted the Ronda Rousey hype machine so much that even they started believing their own nonsense.

For all intents and purposes Ronda is finished. She doesn't have that aura of invincibility now and her confidence is shot. If she gets back in the ring she may get brutally knocked out again. And I don't think that is what she or her handlers want to happen again.

she looked flabby and sick at the Holly fight too. she won't fight again. cyborg woulda destroyed her but i'm glad it was holly instead. even more embarrassing because there was no hype around holly.
