You got people looking just like Sitting Bull with nothing because their ancestors refused any dealings with the federal government so never got enumerated and categorized by agencies.
But some of the whitest looking people have documentation, have had status in their fams for generations and some are the descendants of essentially Europeanized mixed sellouts who screwed over their fellow tribesmen fighting the spread of white settlement across their territories.
