Everyone knew the Floyd stuff was PR/hype train nonsense...

Speaking for myself and my family, we were offended with Serena being blatantly snubbed for a flash in the pan hype job...What Serena accomplished was truly historic...Serena being passed over for Ron is like crowning JR Smith the greatest SG of all time over Jordan/Kobe because he averaged 50 points a game in the Chinese league...
Exactly I don't mind them doing them in terms of hyping and marketing. But Serena was overlooked by the experts. And that was wrong. Esp comments about her looks

You a clown

this cac negged me for saying Jon Jone was dominate

DJ is too small for 135, Cruz is already big for 135

but that's not the point

the point is DJ has on pace to tie Anderson Silva's title defense record
UFC do not put marketing dollars behind his name

Anderson Silva did not get the push Mcgregor got even after looking like the matrix for years, he was still a word of mouth fighter, they never put marketing dollars behind him

Jon Jones dominates for years, he was still a word a mouth guy, he got more famous when he start getting into legal troubles than he did for being the best mma fighter in the world, they never had a marketing campaign for him

It's about the media coverage not who get what fights

UFC is a circus show because of Dana

he does not promote champions he promotes guys he treats like his kids

I do agree with the last sentence and overall point of the post but your examples are just hella suspect. And this whole black fighters angle is hella lame

DJ just isn't marketable, none of the mens divisons under 135 have been. I remember when he was headlining PPVs too they just had shyt numbers. They been trying for years to push him.

Anderson didn't speak native english and like most brazillian fighters in the UFC they can only build fanbases off of being extremely dominant. And we know how rare continued dominance in the UFC can be.

honestly this "marketing push" stuff is kinda bs. Ronda is probably the only true example of UFC building a star through marketing. Connor had the support of his entire country before he was top 5 at featherweight so UFC just ran with it as he kept winning. Who else in MMA was drawing like that for appearances on UNDERCARDS?

UFC in general didn't have stars that transcended the sport like Ronda and Connor, it isn't about who got picked and chose they run with & who they can drain the most $$$ out of. GSP isn't a household name in america, neither was nick diaz, bj penn, matt hughes, cain velazquez or chuck. Most people weren't even aware of brock's ufc run till his first comeback

Maybe UFC didn't have the type of cash and connections back then. But Ronda was the first all out media blitz I've ever seen from the UFC. It was the only time I saw MMA being frequently discussed on ESPN sportstalk shows, the only time I saw a UFC fighter tasked to represent something bigger than the sport, only time I remember UFC results being on the front page of major media outlets, only time I remember seeing a UFC fighter get an espy, and literally the only time I've heard nikkas discussing UFC at work outside of ":hubie:I could never do that UFC shyt. They just let em knee you all up in your face :wtf:"
get this cac off the forum

The UFC assassinated Jones' character after UFC 151 and sabotaged his stardom

They refused to let Woodley fight GSP or Diaz but let Bisping fight Hendo.

lol....yo stfu

This nikka got arrested HIMSELF, got popped for drugs HIMSELF, banged out in his car and got a DUI HIMSELF.

Jon had a whole lot of unnecessary hate during his career but please dead this revisionist dikkriding. Jon sabotaged his own career.

She got 3mil to get her shyt pushed in. Maybe this was why she wasn't doing no promo for herself beforehand.

#GarbrandtGang

Don't let Honda downfall overshadow the travesty about to go down in the women's featherweight div. They're handing holly holm a title when she done lost her last two fights, like cyborg isn't on the payroll. I like holly, but come the fukk on
its from dana for not letting her (holly) get a rematch against Miesha

All your answers are excuse

they've done nothing to promote DJ, it's a flat out lie, Ronda HAD A MARKETING CAMPAIGN, money was spent to get her scene, they made it a priority

same with Conor

Anderson Silva not speaking english has nothing to do with it, Pacquiao english is just as bad as Anderson and he was a huge star in America

Conor Mcgregor is regarded as p4p the best in MMA and doesn't have one title defense lmao

white fighters do not have to do much to get fame and recognition it's just the facts

Dana White is white, he know how white people think and what they want lmao

it just it is what is, your excuses are unfounded to the reality of it, it's just flat out denial

everybody loved ronda rousey until she lost

Floyd Mayweather was hated from the beginning before he even became money mayweathe

:heh: at Kobe exposing himself. If you didn't know what mma was until Ron darousey kill yaself.
Not only that breh, these nikkas also want to act like Gina Carano never existed...

Gina was the true pioneer of women's MMA...Ron wouldn't have a career to speak of if it wasn't for Gina...Dana White was staunchly against women fighting in UFC until he saw the numbers Gina Carano was doing for EliteXC/Strikeforce...

This is what I hate about this social media of the moment conrball ass society we live in today...Blatantly disrespecting the past to give more meaning to your shytty era...

Does that make it right? If you don't successfully defend a title at least once, you don't deserve an auto remAtch. I would be sending Dana death threats if I was cyborg

Shes getting handed a title after losing twice in a row

Snowden spoke with Rousey’s former coach Leo Frincu

“The loss to Holly Holm validated something she felt deeply,” said Frincu. “That she wasn’t good enough, that something was fundamentally wrong with her.”

“I bet she felt like a fraud. Or even more, the way she lost to Holm, Ronda probably felt like she can never escape her past, can never feel good about herself. Boxing, or her new and better self, let her down that night. That explains her suicidal thoughts and the reason she collapsed emotionally.”

It is a pretty lonely life being Ronda Rousey.”

Frincu believes Tarverdyan’s initial disdain for the eager, female, MMA neophyte Rousey helped cement the relationship.

“He may not even know he does it,” said Frincu. “Maybe it’s cultural. Maybe that’s who he is and that’s how he treats women. It just happens that the worst thing that could happen to her is pairing up with that guy.

“She associates guilt and emotional blackmail and all this poison with love. That is love to her. To show anything different than that—to show respect, to treat her like a professional and a human being—that’s foreign to her.”

Frincu says the relationship with Tarverdyan is tumultuous, with Rousey at times texting or calling dozens of times in an hour. Rousey believes that Tarverdyan drives her to emotional lengths in a way that mimics the pressure of a fight, and leaves her better prepared as a fighter. Others attribute the apparent machinations to simple incompetence.

Frincu said the filming of The Ultimate Fighter in 2013 was more than he could contenance. Rousey was stressed to the point her hair was falling out.

“The way he talked to her—wow, what I witnessed,” said Frincu. “The way he talked to everybody, going on these rants. Cursing about how terrible she is. I felt uncomfortable. The next morning I took a plane and I left.”

“It’s almost like there’s not a real world around her. It’s almost like a self-destructive organism.”

“It’s all emotional. There’s no logic in that camp.

Everything there is rage and anger.”

Former coach: Why I left Rousey’s camp

This shyt right here :hhh:
Its no surprise why shyt turned out how they did. Her career is a cautionary tale.:hhh:
