That's your issue. Her first promo after Vince introduced her in particular was excellent.

Story was on fire a few weeks ago and they're botching it with strange decision-making and pointless overbooking

You are trying way too hard to make Charlotte matter right now, when it’s blantantly clear she doesn’t. Not in this match. So far including her looks like the wrong call, period.

Maybe she will matter later, cause Charlotte always holds up her end. In the ring? I have no doubt it will work.

But her two biggest moments so far have been 1) Vince hijacking Wrestlemania and introducing her (which was more a Vince/Becky moment), and 2) the promo where she was clowning Becky’s limp.

None of the stuff by herself, or without Becky around, has landed. None of it feels necessary for this match. Mostly because as messy as some of the Becky/Ronda shyt has been, it’s also been compelling.

There’s a reason people keep saying “Charlotte isn’t needed,” or “I don’t get Charlotte’s angle here.” No ones prompting that reaction. Don’t ignore it just because Charlotte has carried the division in the past, or you want to see her in the match.
