I'm confident Desantis torpedoed his own campaign on the first day. Saying that "monkey" comment when the entire nation was tuned into Florida politics is as dumb as it gets. Very few folks are going to pay attention in 2/3 weeks when other primaries take place, and your first and only impression to the nation was a racist dig. Stupid as fukk dude.

Being racist doesn't stop people from winning elections in America (much less Florida) and actually mobilizes a lot of white voters. The Trump era has made that pretty clear.
I'm donating to Gillum and hoping for the best, but thinking it's in the bag is the LAST thing Democrats need to be doing these days.

I hadn't heard it before either but apparently there's a clip of Adam Schiff saying it as well
