It is somewhat of gotcha shyt. But I think it is pretty revealing of the mentality of Mr. "corporations are people, friend." Saying the military is the troops is a bit out of touch.

Regardless, I think Romney is vulnerable on foreign policy and military. He has no experience, no knowledge, is surrounded by neocon retreads who were wrong about everything, and has been pretty vague on his foreign policy worldview. And he's an elitist p*ssy.

I think the best thing that Dems can do is bring up George W. Bush as much as possible and compare him to Romney.

If you notice, Dubya wasn't even invited to the Republican convention. The GOP is basically pretending he doesn't exist, they're pretty much throwing Bush in Bushes.

Dubya is the least popular living ex-President, and Romney for the most part suppported his policies (including the Iraq War). If the Dems don't bring this up, frequently, they're idiots.

This is the same guy that said he didn't care about the poor cause they had "A Safety Net". Of course he doesn't care about the troops. Romney is nothing more than a corporate robot that was put up by the republican establishment. He's only purpose is to get in office and make the top 1% richer.

Republicans should have trusted their instincts and went with anybody other than Romney.

This guy makes Bush look compassionate and diplomatic.

Relax breh. I meant the whole idea of combing through the speech for a missing word and then hyping up the difference between military and troops. It's the same as the GOP saying the Dem platform doesn't have "god" when it does have "faith." The whole meaning of the moment is derived from the theatrics of deriving a meaning. It's pointless.

How many hours do you think he spent on the speech? Well, his speech-writers. The fact that he's the first Republican nominee since 1952 not to acknowledge the troops is big. He's disconnected, and going for a "well, it's semantics" is just throwing him a loophole.

I'll be the first person to tell you I don't like war, nor the military, but I gotta respect the troops to some degree for going out there, especially since I won't. Lol, and Romney won't either, nikka ducked serving in the military like

Damn Reps don't care about the troops now? :leon:

:obama:

You act as if a single solitary politician actually gives a damn about material troops.

All that word is is a signifier to be modified and molded as they see fit. The actual people fighting are meaningless, as they can just find more people to satisfy the terms of the existence of the signifier "troops" (The young are always going to need a way to pay for college, the pulsions of the jingoistic always need to be satisfied, etc.). No one actually gives a damn about lives being put in danger because they're in no way a significant part of the political economy of war at this point.
