Too many options that are accessible via social media to make one feel like they don’t have to be tied down to any one person.

that plus fake images of what a perfect relationship is so every time someone picks up a phone they see their relationship doesn't match thus they then become "unhappy"

Then why do married women live longer and less prone to poverty than unmarried women?

Married women raise healthier, happier, and more successful children too...

What positive metrics correlate with this choice to stay single for their wellbeing?

Shouldnt there be substantial information showing the benefits?

A number of studies report that single women tend to be healthier and less depressed, living longer than married women. Single women generally experience fewer stresses and compromises than married women. Furthermore, single women feel more empowered, enjoying greater personal autonomy and freedoms than married women largely because they don’t juggle challenging multiple roles at work and home.

Wives are generally less happy than single women, with many resentful of being married to the wrong man. Consequently, large numbers of marriages, estimated at no less than half in France, Russia and the United States end in divorce or separation. Women are far more likely to file for divorce and report feeling happier after ending their marriages. Such unhappiness is not limited to women married to men – women married to other women are more likely to divorce than married male same-sex couples. Women have higher expectations of marriage than men and higher demands for meaningful communication and relationship quality, especially with regard to affection and intimacy.

Psychology Today quoted expert Paul Dolan, Professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, as saying that single women with no children are the happiest. Dolan says that men derive benefits from marriage, which makes them happy being married more than when they are single. However, this doesn’t apply to women.

  • In the last 50 years, working women have made strides in wages and savings compared with previous generations.
  • However, their married heterosexual counterparts have seen their retirement security decline because their husband’s fortunes have suffered, research shows.

According to Guardian, in his latest book Happy Ever After, Paul used data from the American Time Use Survey (ATUS), which compared the happiness levels of a group of unmarried, married, divorced, widowed, and separated adults to find his outcome - women who choose not to get married and not to have kids will not only be happier, but healthier too.

Women who are never married and don’t have children are the most content and outlive their married counterparts, according to Paul Dolan, a behavioral science professor at the London School of Economics.
