Hip hop fans need to let go about all music in the genre competing. The people playing Radiohead were different to those playing Slipknot. You could try and compare them and say who is better but the music so different it’s impossible. Yeh you get some who listen to all hip hop but most now have their type of niche and it’s like comparing apples to oranges

how out of touch is the coli?

Whole lotta red probably won’t even get 1 vote in our annual “What’s the best album of the year, besides whatever Nas project came out?” Poll thread

out of touch with Rollong Stone? Out of touch with hipsters/white Boys who’s grew up listening to Mu Chemical Romance and Foo Fighters? A lot of The Coli is probably pretty out of touch with that type of person, we’re mostly Hip Hop heads, not kids who started listening a year ago because they had to.

I thought a lot of Carti fans didn't fukk with it.

So what happened was. This album was flames but the o.g broke boy carti fans wasn't feeling it because he switched his style from one terrible way of rapping to another one.

Me personally I'll like whatever Playboy drops for the most part because in my eyes dude is a parody rapper. I mean i know he be dead ass serious but thats what makes it funny/fun to listen to.

This. And I’m not even hating on Carti as I haven’t listened to this album and I’m not up on his music. it just seems dumb strange to use Rolling Stone as a barometer of what’s relevant/dope for rap fans.

It is the best in my opinion :yeshrug:but I know how the booth is doesn’t like much experimentation and is all about 90s boom bap beats and 16 bars.

Y’all probably just to old to get it :yeshrug:

Naw fam, die lit and his first album with the Harry fraud beats was nice, this was some rock star shyt meets rap, damn near a rage album, I expect the next album to be better

Album was trash but sure

"Place" and "New Neon" are better beats than 99% of stuff on other albums that came out

Rolling Stone thinks John Lennon is a better singer than Al Green.
Rolling Stone has Bob motherfukking Dylan on it's Best Singers OAT list.
Rolling Stone hated every Led Zeppelin album.
Rolling Stone thinks Formation is the best video of all time.

You see where I'm going with this?
