The original editor of The Source said that he saw Biggie approach Suge Knight backstage at the Source Awards about leaving Bad Boy and signing with Death Row.

I remember reading this on the Nas BBS back in 05
That’s why Suge went on the stage and said what he said. He was looking right at Big when he did his “all in the videos” speech

This is widely known though...at least leaving Bad Boy. We knew that when he was alive. As far as the publishing, how far did the process get? We only heard that Ms Wallace was fighting for her son publishing, and that she hated Puff at one point. And this was shortly after his death.

I don't believe this. Suge would've exposed it.
I'm not sure. Suge was reaching out to folks to join DR, that came out years later. So they were definitely keep a lot of meetings under wraps at that point. Apparently, almost everyone had a meeting with Suge

I remember a interview I saw a couple years ago, I wanna say it was Biggs ( rocafella co founder ) was explaining the day big was at the video for “ ain’t no “ and they pulled out 250k in cash and biggie was stunned. They told him it’s all from rap and being independent and Big felt he was slighted by puffy with his contract because he was bigger than them at the time.

Then another interview I saw ( I can’t remember who mind you this is like 6 years ago ) puff went to biggie with a new contract and it was bullshyt and big got hot and said he wasn’t going to sign because he wanted a different contract that had him more in control and more money.

U know u might be right. This adds up.
I don’t remember where I read it but he was basically venting to Suge and was asking for Dre beats. And Suge had a rep for saving artists from their bad contracts back then as crazy as it sounds.

Suge being the instigator he was, he took the opportunity to shyt on Puff on stage.

biggie’s daughter couldn’t even use the notorious for her clothing line off based off her pops name. Diddy stopped her from using it so she had to add another s to the end of the name making it sound like a faggit describing someone in a sassy manner

“ oh child you know he’s notorioussssss boo “
