Sinclair could've invested in The Bucks, Cody and Omega wanted to do and become what AEW is now. Instead they made almost no attempt to keep those guys and work with them to build the company into a legit #2 option.
They could've thrown the bag at them and they would've never left ROH, AEW wouldn't exist and ROH wouldn't be having its last show tonight.

Everything you listed are Sinclair/ROH problems. ROH could have done a lot more to capitalize on the popularity of BTE but Sinclair was content with ROH being a minor league product and chose not to invest more into it. I know it's fashionable to shyt on Tony Khan, but the main cause of ROH's demise was Sinclair, a billion dollar company, not realizing what they had and treating it as such. Also, who's fault is it that the Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, Kaz, Christopher Daniels, Scorpio Sky, and Best Friends all happened to have their contracts expire around the same time?

All these things can be right at once.

sinclair didnt fund roh how they could have. Unarguable. Their business decision, but they didnt believe expanding roh was a profitable venture.

all in was a show under ROH, serving as a proof of concept which became AEW. Tony khan liked and funded it, and formed aew, using the best roh talent.

that talent left after roh booked its biggest show in history, and that show was a failure

AEW plucked the talent from roh, pwg, defy, pwg (and then labeled it as “hey we can all work together” when they already were) and roh lost credibility and momentum.

it is akin to what WWF did with AWA. Im not even making a value judgement, its just business.

Must we equate the BUYING OUT of other territories, to talent leaving (as is their right) a company after a long tenure AND being the only reason that company was popping before they left? Not to mention the company they went to, actually promotes collaborations...
AWA went on for years, just floudnering after wwf raided them and made rock n wrestling...not a buyout

But the difference between Vince McMahon going in with the intention of destroying all the other territories by outbidding them for wrestler's services is that, as you said, the All In PPV was done as a proof of concept for what could be and Sinclair was like "nah, we'll pass on that :hubie:" so The Bucks et al took their idea to someone who was willing to invest.
Verne Gagne was never given a choice in the matter because even if he wasn't an old coot who was set in his ways, he didn't have the resources to do battle with Vince.
Sinclair has billions and just didn't want to spend even a fraction of that on their little wrestling company.

Has anybody announced ROH's post-hiatus plans yet? I still hope that they can survive a while longer, even if it's just with periodic events.

In, I guess. I have some FITE credit so I'll use it for this.

Edit: Fukk, can't buy with credits. ANOTHER reason why they're going down :troll:

Sinclair is still sticking by their original claim that they "anticipate returning to live events in April for the Super Card of Honor with a new fan-focused product".
