Up until Skyfall 007/James Bond was supposedly a code name given to that role so the actor could've potentially been anyone black, white, mexican, or female. That got ruined by Skyfall showing the gravestones of the parents. If they can make Moses and Ramses two lily white british cats then Bond can be a black dude.
No no no no. It wasn't breh lol. It never was. FANS assumed it was because people need to apply explanations to things that don't need it. "HEY! How can he never age and how is he played by different guys?!!" Oh i don't know, because the movies make a ton of money and the producers wanted to keep it going so they had to bring in different actors to play the roles.
There was a link between every Bond from Connery to Brosnan making them all the same guy: Tracy Bond. In On her majesty's secret service, they go to great lengths to show that Lazenby is playing the same Bond as Connery and then he gets married and his wife is killed on the wedding day. Roger Moore's Bond makes reference to her death in at least two movies and Dalton's Bond makes reference to it in one. So by your logic, its a codename and yet these different guys feel the same emotional connection to this dead woman named Tracy Bond and get real aggravated whenever her name is bought up?
Bosnan's Bond has the Aston Martin and is referred to as a "relic of the Cold War" so again, same guy. The only break in the chain is Casino Royale because it is a true reboot.
And the stuff in Skyfall about his parents? It's always been there. In Casino Royale there is a scene where Vesper says that he's an orphan who came from money. And the bio in the books has always been that he lost both of his parents in a climbing accident, became an orphan and joined the royal navy only to be recruited to the secret service.
It's not a codename breh, never has been, never will be. It's just the reality of keeping a franchise going for 50 years when your principle actor gets older or wants more money or is fired. If you don't believe me breh, there's a Bond documentary you can find on YouTube and the producers talk about his background and bio and say its the same guy. They've always said its the same guy which is why I never understood why fans created this theory that its a codename. why do extra work for yourself?
