Roe and Casey to be overturned by SCOTUS; Draft opinion by Alito leaks to POLITICO

Will the draft opinion hold when pending cases are ruled?

Chill out because I know what you doing and trying to get at..

I don’t give a fukk either side dem or repub all fakkit crackers to me

Now that’s out the way as I know what you was getting at, yes it’s all about numbers..did malcom x grow up with the best living situation? Did 2pac? No but they still grew to be influential for our people in a positive way..

so yes it’s about sheer numbers

Is your mother white?

You do know there was a time when black/african outnumbered white people in america. Gotta do more than just have “sheer numbers”. They didnt even get the numbers right for black people with the last census.

The most interesting point in the draft opinion is that they will use this same logic in the not too distant future to roll back civil rights.
100%

A ton of folks on the right would absolutely roll civil rights back in a heartbeat if they could get away with it.

I think fukkin' Rand Paul has even openly said it before

edit:

Slippery slope fear mongering early :picard:
A slippery slope is not always a logical fallacy. The fallacy part is that one place on the slope directly leads to the next spot down. But no one says there's not a slope. The existence of a slope isn't the fallacy.

Also, it's not fear mongering. So many GOP/conservative/reactionary people bigots, racists, sexists, homophobes, transphobes, and xenophobes to varying degrees. They don't even hide it anymore. Why wouldn't they roll back things like civil rights if they thought they could get away with it?

I don't think it'll happen, but I don't understand thinking it's a ridiculous notion. Who ever thought we'd be here? And yet here we are.

We have a strong system of checks and balances in this country, but it's being tested pretty hard.

Roe vs Wade survived the fukking 80's and 90's era conservative/reactionary politics but couldn't survive a couple years of the 2020's. That's how powerful the modern MAGA cult/Q modern era right wing shyt has become.

fukk all you Trump voters out there reading this

This is massively depressing.

The 1980s and 1990s was the groundwork though.

The GOP realigned things. The Dems had controlled the US House for 40 years until 1994 elections.

Now the GOP controls most state legislatures, they have more governors, and they have a big advantage with both houses of the US Congress with gerrymandering now in their favor for US House and the US Senate is tilted towards the numerous rural states that used to have Dem representation but now are fully red.

We're looking at a real wipeout of the Dems post-2024. It is scary.

What does this clip have to do with the ruling?

Is Sanders against abortion? Did he vote for Kavanaugh or ACB? I'm not a Bernie Bros but what does a clip around policy talking points matter in the current moment? Do you think if Bernie rallied around abortion we'd have a different makeup in the Supreme Court?

Funny thing is..if Roe v Wade never passes we have a much larger black population today like much larger..
You’re assuming people wouldn’t have abortions if it was illegal in their state, not true. It just turns into a black market for them, or you have to travel out of state.

FOH. A ton of progressives and leftists weren't "Bernie or Bust" folks. Myself included. I voted for Biden as did a ton of other leftists.

This egging on of in-fighting is goofy. The GOP is a huge reason why the GOP has so much power. They're effective at what they do, and putting it all on progressives is dumb and/or not a good faith argument
