Just listened all the way thru for the first time, running it back again.
Album is about what you'd expect from these two artists. It's serious heat
At this point, Roc is my favorite rapper in the game. He can still make classic material 15+ years deep in the game. He has an absurd amount of classic songs at this point.
Alc is able to find such unique samples that he can have 7 piano loops and they don't get tiring or repetitive like some of the "griselda type beats" (I still love all those too, but Daringer has a few repetitive piano loops). Alcs mixing of subtle vocal soul samples and such is fukking unmatched at this point.
Rauf is my favorite song...classic Alc. Piano loop and vocal sample have a vintage RZA type feel to it
...but then the beat switches up to have a soul section to it, which is too ill. Beat is soulful yet grimey. Pure alc. This shyt is the type of song that I can keep running back over and over 20 straight times and not get sick of. This a 10/10 song to me.
Mystery God...heat. Vocal sample is dope, the piano loop is vintage alc.
Street Magic...dope af, darker vibe...winter night vibe... subtle piano loop and blaring jazz horn sample is fire af.
There's not any weak tracks on here... But imo, 5, "Acid" isn't as good as the rest, it's still solid, just not dope.
Knock It Off...BANGS...just dope af. bang in the whip type track.
At first I wasn't feeling "Cryotherapy" since the beat is such a cacophony, but it grew on me, the vocal sample is dope.
"Chateau Josue" is dope too, just not as fire as the others. The pounding war drum is fire.
"Skirt Steak" dope...wasn't my favorite track, but is still
...more of an uplifting beat
"Bleu Mouson" fire...sounded like something prime Hov was lace.
"Hard Drugs" heat...that pimped out beat
Felt like Curtis Mayfield or sum
"Make Sure"
a heavenly soulful beat
"Chopsticks" dark, gritty, dope af. My favorite type of vibe from alc.
