With much love and all due respect to Roc....I don't really have much interest in seeing him live. I'd go see him if he's ever in my area, no doubt. I want to support a dude that's given me so much dope music to enjoy.

But to me what makes him so dope is how his voice is so mellow and kind of just floats on top of the beat. A live performance sort of necessitates having to be louder and project your voice more. I think that kind of takes away from his whole thing.

Although I will say this is one of the better live videos I've seen from him.

I do think Roc would be very dope an NPR tiny desk concert though.

Trying again but I don’t get the hype, like it’s cool but not ground breaking. But it did take me a minute to catch WSG too.
I would NOT recommend this project as a way to get into Roc Marci.

I would say listen to Reloaded. That's the definitive project. Marcberg and Reloaded were his first 2 solo projects, and they really are the best place to start. I'm a big Roc fan but I can't imagine trying to get into his music by having to start with this newest album.

Or possibly listen to some loosies and guest verses. These are all pretty dope.

Sean Price verse is fire

This has dope CNN and Mobb Deep references in the beat and the flow

This first verse is just insane to me

Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, and Roc

Ka is very dope and he and Roc are on the same steez

RIP Bandana P

Funny thing I prefer Evidence live over his album. The energy he brings to live performances doesn't translate.

The thought of Jay jamming this album in a penthouse somewhere, hearing the line

"Hov gave me a dap
Right afterwards he stabbed Un in the abdomen

I jumped in a cab with an African"

and then turning to Beyonce like

I've seen Roc a bunch of times now, he's improved quiet a bit as a live performer, I will say that

here is the thing that alot of guys who imitate this dude dont understand, you cant really do him without being him. What im saying is that roc marciano says alot and very little at the same time. Even when hes just sort of freely rapping like on "pool hall hustlers" by alchemist, its still either hilarious or there are some dope lines.
Thing is, dudes like hus kingpin and gun, i enjoy what they do, hus kingpin has always been cordial with me, but they dont get better with every release and their bars dont grab me, the beats do. Gunn being the most egregious example because he swears up and down hes the innovator of all this when he is very much roc marciano without the dope lines.

Another thing i like about roc is how quiet he is on social media. youll have someone like conway say "i aint no internet nikkas, i dont @ nikkas i get at nikkas" and proceed to whine on IG and then delete it. He definitely embodies a man who moves very differently and you cant do nothing but respect it.

i love this new album, tom chambers has 3 fukking beat changes. raw as fukk
