Godamn roc is spitting that fukking fire on here :ohhh:

He really one of the best of all time on the mic, originality and creativity on bars and flow is crazy

My only problem with this album is that the beats are really generic imo. Just 2 bar loops and thats it... A lot of the shyt sounds the same.

That's definitely an issue for me but man it's still a great album. There's a convo to be had about innovation and pushing things. A lot of Roc's output has felt like him basically rehashing Reloaded. He has thrown curveballs in by expanding his sample palette but overall the base is still the 2 bar soul loops. I love how he has added beat switches and stuff on here though.

Makes you wonder what the next evolution of this shyt could be.

This is dope but I'd be lying if I put near the top of his catalog. Wish he put a bit more effort into the mix and some of the beats don't work imo. He kills every verse though obviously

I see what you’re getting at here. But it’s not an issue for me.

For one thing, the transformation from Marcberg to Reloaded was drastic. The drumless loops of course. But even how Roc presented himself on the mic. Reloaded was the album where he really started the humorous outlandish shyt.

So I feel like Roc carved out his own lane. And he keeps it interesting with off the wall samples here and there on every album.
He’s got his sound and I just want him to stay in his lane. If he tries to do something different, it’s gotta be innovative. I don’t want him rhyming over trap beats or mumble singing.

I agree. Marcberg is pretty bleak when you look back at it, whereas from Reloaded on the humor and outlandish shyt has only increased. That's not a bad thing btw, it brings much needed fly-ness and levity to the proceedings. I'd rather listen to that than listen to someone rapping about blowing your brains out nonstop *cough* Conway *cough*...give me something original, interesting, humorous, etc.

I don't want him over trap either but I'm curious to hear him expand the sound or maybe do something unexpected. Dunno, like more jazz samples. More dark guitar shyt.

The one trap beat off the shyt he had with DJ Muggs had me confused
