First time that I'm hearing nikkas hating on the Dynasty beat :ohhh:
I feel like some nikkas would say anything to take Nas side in any argument.

To answer the OP...I go with the Dynasty intro. I like Stillmatic don't get me wrong, Nas carries that his with his bars and delivery...that beat is :trash: though. That Dynasty intro is like all time great Jay-Z IMO, I'd really have to think about it to put 15-20 songs above him. Comparing that to a somewhat forgettable Stillmatic into is crazy to me.

I'm the OP and it wasn't forgettable.

how does a king have "heart"? If anything kings are known for their lack of heart. Blood of a slave signifies a legacy of bondage and subservience. The lyric is fukkin retarded. Heart of a slave would mean the strength to endure the worst situations, while blood of a king would signify a legacy of royalty. The dumbass got the lyric backwards.

this is how i took it.
nas growing up went through struggles and especially during this time period was (1999-2001)going through a lot of struggles both personally and professionally and that is why he was making the comparisons to slavery. on top of that he actually like all african americans does come from the slave bloodline and had to overcome all kinds of obstacles to eventually rise (in other words show heart) to the 'throne' to rule his kingdom -blood of a slave, heart of a king!!!!

youre ignoring EVERYTHING I just said though in order to just look at the lyric superficially. Him mentioning slaves and kings is enough for you to cosign, but once you actually apply it it doesnt make sense. See, either way he worded it he still mentions slaves and kings, your explanation doesnt make a distinction in the context of how.

fact still remains that kings are known for not having heart
heart of a slave means to endure

naS fukked up the lyric... he fukks up a lot of lyrics which is why I dont consider him a lyricist

Heart of a slave, blood of a King makes much more sense... the other shyt is ridiculous

that way it makes more sense but the way Nas said it sounds way better than the other way. He could also have said, blood of a king, heart of a slave, but it's also better to start with the word slave and finish by the word. But the Nas version can be explain though

So like I always knew, naS stans are concerned with what "sounds cool" not what makes sense. Explains "Ether" (I am positive naS stans never heard the word before), and pretty much every naS lyric that doesnt make sense. They think it sounds cool to unfold scrolls.

The problem is it just doesnt work. But as long as it sounds cool :manny:

Jay's shyt is actually lyrical and makes sense.

first of all, the way Nas said MAKES sense it's just that the other way around is more obvious if you want to explain it

second of all, if I start to search for accurate sense and logical explainations, I would turn myself to scientists not rappers

jay said in devils

My flesh, no nikka could test, my soul is possessed
By D'evils in the form of diamonds and Lexuses

The Exorcist, got me doing sticks like "homie
You don't know me but the whole world owe me, strip!"

now explain to me how if jay is possessed by the devil an "excorcist" is going to incite him to do bad things if an excorcist job is just here to save the very people who are under the submission of demons. (and he's not talking about the movie, I see you coming :comeon:)

Jay made a mistake here but I don't mind cause I get the whole point

same when he said

Never read the Qu'ran or Islamic scriptures
Only psalms I read was on the arms of my nikkas

psalms are only jewish or christians and not muslim, in qu'ran you find verses. But then again, I get the point, I'm not gonna play dummy like you do with Nas
