Hmm, didn't realize that he was only in FF at that point, so that makes a bit more sense now. Hope dude got a good raise after, now I can see why he's sick of doing CA movies.

He was in more but nothing that made him a movie star . Terrence Howard and Jeff bridges and he'll probably even Paltrow would of been considered bigger stars than Downey when they did iron man1 as well. Jon favreau fought for Downey and that launched marvel . He still getting producer credits for that lol

That was Marvel's formula. Find relative unknown's or guys on the B list, pay them next to nothing and see what happens..

Marvel still Isn't paying for as far as I can see. That's why supposedly Batista got drax over khal drago ( even though Batista killed it ) due to salary demands. Marvel kind of looks at it like you being in a hit marvel movie can raise your profile for other stuff , look at Colson and how he spun that into his own starring TV show , hemsworth is cashing in , Evans wants to direct so that's why he may leave but it helps him to be attached to marvel as one of the top guys .

They were talking about leaving before phase 2 due to the low pay and that's when the RDJ leaving ironman stuff was starting . He fought for the cast to get raises ( I don't remember what the raises were) but I think it was like 2-3mil

What confuses me about marvel is the budget of the avengers 1 And 2 as opposed to GOTG , Thor 2, TWS . To me those 3 looked better and cgi looked less noticeable than in the bigger budgeted AOU. Is that Whedon? All that money went to promotion ? RDJ salary?

Not sure breh.

It is a lot easier to make CGI look real if very little is real in the scene. In "AOU" you had several scenes that could exist in real life....like a forest, or in the middle of a city. In "GOTG" there's hardly anything real to compare the CGI in the scene to. You get what I'm saying? They're on spaceships and alien planets and a giant head floating in space.

Hemsworth and Chris Evans got big bumps. Hemsworth is getting somewhere around 8-10 million for Thor 3. And I think he got 10 million for the last Avengers.

Evans is around 5-7 million. Plus they get a little bit of the backend. Nowhere near Downey JR. But they get a small piece which ends up being probably 5 million each.
