Robert Downey is talented, and i respect him, his recent projects aren't my taste at all…but I'm sensitive to this for my own reasons, I have almost 10 years clean and sober, and that shyt is not a big deal to me (in an overly dramatic/self righteous type of way) like I joke around all the time, always around drugs and alcohol, etc etc….but, what DOES bother me, is when I see friends, people who were close to me who I haven't seen in years and years, and they ask about it, in the most timid, but insulting way…with euphemisms and hanging questions, innuendos about 'taking care of myself', and 'you look healthy'.
All that to say, it's fukked up, but for maybe the rest of my life, at least a degree of family members, friends, loved one, will associate me with having a drug/alchohol addiction….for me it's frustrating, but I suppose thats the price to pay. Ask about it, laugh about it with me, but move the fukk on, it's been 10 years. Now, for a professional in a professional capacity, that kind of line of questions would be unacceptable for em too.
