has Brady taken a bad team to the Superbowl ? :jbhmm:

i wouldn't say bad, but 2 of them were just very surprising.

1st SB - with bledsoe that team is at best 7-9. a great defense, but offense was really bad. they had no business playing in the SB. just alot of luck and brady's timely throws. they didn't call him golden boy for nothing.

Chiefs SB - this team was 7-9 the year before. this year they had a serious issues in the middle of the season. got ass whooped by the saints and they looked confused at times. they right the ship by Brady start calling plays, and rallied the troops by staying focused. with any other QB this team is 8-8, 9-7 at best especially being a 1st year in pandemic. yes, they got hot at the right time, but nobody expected them to be there at the end. none.

so in both cases they are alot like the 2007 giants. They weren't supposed to be there, but they peaked at the right time. they all have 1 thing in common. Defense getting hot at the right time and QB making critical plays.

and my honorable mention would be 2016 Pats. That team was good, but not great personnel wise. they were winning because brady was pissed for 4 game suspension. and they were just so focused to win and prove something.

There was a reason why they were down 28-3 because you could see the speed discrepancy in the 1st half. Brady eventually threw 62 times in that game an wore out the falcons D. He was throwing to

edelman
amendola
mitchell
hogan
bennett

i mean all 5 of these players are just dudes. Gronk didn't play. they won because of the chemistry, the execution and a flawless game plan entire season minus 1st half of the falcons.

you plug any other QB there, they will struggle.

Brady has the strongest case of being the GOAT team athlete.

But the GOAT athlete goes to Olympians, and a great individual performer like Tiger, Jordan and etc.
When people talk about GOAT athletes they're talking about the individual. Brady didn't revolutionize a sport like an Ali, LT, MJ, or Wilt but he is a great player.

Brady revolutionized the passing game more than you think. in the past nobody threw 50+ times in the game and expected to win. Brady is the only dude who consistently won by throwing more. Brady throwing 62 times in the SB and won!

Because of the way Brady(also Manning) played the value of RBs diminished. RBs now must be able to catch well to have more value to them. Also look at all these young players throwing 40+ times in a game. Justin Herbert for example. the game has permanently changed, not just because of the rule change, but because brady/manning showed the blue print.

Also the ultimate goal of athlete is to win and dominate. Brady has dominated his field and has a strong case that his dominance is greater than how others dominated. Brady owns every meaningful stats, has the most rings, and won with 2 different teams.
