I personally think his run has validated the fact that Torts style was not condusive to winning
I thnk the fact Vancouver literally went from a contender to missing the playoffs his first year as coach further validates that argument lol...

I was so close to my dream of LA v Montreal, but this the next best outcome.LA V NY
LA V NY
westside v eastside
pac v biggie
blaaaaaaaaaaadt
It shoulda never even went to game 7, Kings shoulda finished them off in 5.
ETA: It should of never even went to OT. I guess the Kings are team of destiny..

fukk la
Nah LA and NY the two biggest markets in the country and LA is growin the sport bringin in new hockey fans.I think they prefer orginal six. especially given that the hawks attract RIDICULOUS ratings on tv.
Kings had LA turnt up in 2012 and they got the city again, plus the Kings fillin the void of no other LA team competin for a sports title right now so all eyez on them.LA hasn't proven to be a great TV draw despite the recent success. This series should still get decent ratings, but Hawks vs Rangers would've broken ratings record
Kings lost more games in the first 2 rounds this year than they did all postseason in 2012 and have gone 7 games in each of these 3 rounds. In 2012 they only lost 4 games as a 8 seed became the first ever 8th seed to win a Cup the first to knock off the 1st 2nd and 3rd seeds in order were the first team to make the finals undefeated on the road at 8-0 won 10 straight road games overall and finished 10-1 on the road, that 2012 team was on some historic shyt. This Kings team got more mental toughness than any pro sports team i have seen...Its crazy if they cant finish this post season run off with a championship cuz its far greater than there 2012 run...
Kings the comeback kids, lets make this dynasty official.

They did do that in 2012 they beat the 3 best teams in the Western Conference in a row who had 3 of the top 4 best records in the league, qualifyin for the playoffs wit just 3 games left in the season then goin on to dominate the postseason as a 8 seed makin it look easy runnin thru all the top teams and breakin records >> bein down in every series nearly chokin a 3-1 lead and barely makin it out alive in game 7s. The road is tougher cause they not playin as great as they did in 2012, comin back like that is amazin but not as historic as settin all those records outta nowhere.IMO this 2014 squad had a tougher road getting to the finals by essentially beating the 3 best teams in the league back to back to back, they didnt do that in 2012.
and winning 3 game 7s on the road to get there not to mention being down 3-0 in round 1,3-2 in round 2 and coming back 3 times in game 7 in round 3 and then winning it in OT i think trumps anything they did in 2012...
That being said if they dont win it all, this historic run pretty much will get swept under the rug in terms of its historical signifigance...

Vancouver and Phoenix cannot compare to this years resume...i forget who the other team was...they knocked off a defending champ
and the 2 best teams in the west with over 100 pts...
