What makes you think twigs is not writing for them, or working in some capacity.
Like real talk, why do we know twigs more than three other weirdo ass females.
When, none of these weirdo females are really talented and occupying a dead draw genre in triphop renamed.

That weirdo girl twigs is an industry plant to, breh.

I couldn't pick her or her music out of a lineup.

I never heard her record and just know her from wearing jordan's.
Which could have all been a ploy to create some fake hype beast sneak pr run for Adidas to piggyback off of.
As Adidas likes to use Jordan to boost up who they want to sign.

I wouldn't be surprised about any of that. I got no dog in that fight either way, just an observation.

Let's be real,...

When bjork, portishead, tricky, goldie, and at the least hooverphonic were on fire in this genre and going plat.
Any act we saw emulate them was wack or just a blatant Beth gibbons and bjork ripoff.
That was heavily marketed from the spooks, to morcheeba to esthereo, etc.
So, how or where did this genre?
get more legs from to offer more acts for us to indulge in.
twenty years after the fact from a grassroots level.
That no one resonated on when the genre was at its highest selling.
It is because they are house music genre planted artist.

There are no coincidences in this life.
Anytime an act shows up on your radar and you know damn well they have no real footprint grassroots.
Yet, they are headfaking like they are some dominant grassroots artist.
It is a bonafide well constructed and paid for PR based lie.

Indeed.

You reminded me of an old article.

Origin of the 'Nerd'

Nerd probably came from a term at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from the origin of Knurd (which is drunk spelled backwards). Unlike the drunk, the 'knurd' drinks heavily of knowledge and does practically everything opposite of the 'drunk'.

But have you noticed how some things are considered 'nerd' while other things are not? And, even more strange, these things change over time.

If something is 'nerdish', then that means most businesses cannot profit from that activity.

Take books. Books are considered 'nerdish'. However, television is full of advertising. So it makes sense that marketing would portray television as "mainstream" and books as "nerd". They want television to appear 'cool' so they can make money.

Take staying at home for the evening. This is considered 'nerdish'. However, if you go to a fancy club, restaurant, or something else, this is marketed as 'mainstream' and 'cool'. No one makes money if you stay at home for the evening so no wonder they will belittle it.

Take music. Classical music is 'nerdish'. However, pop-culture music is marketed as 'mainstream' and 'cool'. The reason is because they make money off the 'hip-hop'. How can they make money off of Beethoven and Bach?

Take clothes. Keeping care of your clothes and having them last a while is 'nerdish'. However, 'sticking with the fashions' is marketed as mainstream and cool. The reason is because they make money when you keep changing fashions. They make no money if you stick with your clothes.

I think you are seeing the point. Now, let us look at how some of the 'nerd' things change.

Take the Internet. The Internet was a haven for nerds. But as soon as companies could make money off the Internet, then the Internet became 'awesome' and 'mainstream'. Companies who have the Internet as a threat such as newspapers, and certain colleges still try to paint the image that the Internet is for "unsocial nerdish quacking misfits".

Take video games. In the eighties, video games were seen for 'nerds'. However, as soon as gigantic companies such as Sony and Microsoft moved in, they have produced marketing that says, "Hey, gaming is now mainstream! Gaming is hip and cool!" Most video game players have bought this hook, line, and sinker. If you account for population growth and multiple console ownership, gaming has not really grown. In fact, it has even decreased in some areas. (A steady decline over ten years in Japan reversed with the DS phenomenon currently over there. In America, the trend has been downward for a couple of years.) As soon as the major companies moved in, they put out the marketing that it is 'mainstream' and 'cool' because they want your money. It is that simple.

Another video-game example would be the recent invention of the word "hardcore gamer". This used to be the 'nerd'. But they call them 'hardcore gamers' because they can now make money off of you. This is similiar to Hollywood calling those who watch movies all day to be 'greatly cultured' where you could easily call them dorks. (Hollywood won't say that because they make money off them, obviously.)

So any time you see the 'nerd' versus 'cool' mantra, follow the money. Anything in society that people cannot make much money off of is going to be condemned as 'nerdish'. Just be who you are, follow your own interests, and ignore this advertising imagery that drapes society.

So Roc Nation isn't supposed to grow as a business until Rita Ora is taken care of? lol.

No one cares about her and her music. That's what it is. I hope they release her so she can continue to do nothing :snoop:

She need to do what J Cole did and keep making music instead of waiting for her big break.

Roc Nation probably had to pay a lot for those things though. In terms of personell and favors.

In terms of pure profit, J. Cole and Rihanna are on another planet specially Rihanna. That tour money is :scust:.

Word is that she's mad cause she will always be a faux Rihanna, she feels that all the hits and shyt goes to Rihanna and she gets the leftovers. Also her ex Calvin Harris is managed by Roc Nation through 360. Seems like a pretty good reason to sue but she would still be cleaning Craig Davids studio if it wasn't for Roc Nation.
