Yeah Philly has had a drill scene for about 7 years
Oddly enough, Beanie Sigel own son is one of the most disrespectful drill rappers in the city
:russ:

This is the first I'm seeing this or hearing of him.

Goes to show just how bad the blackballing of the Philly rap scene is that even Beanie's son gets no attention. :martin:

EDIT: His name doesn't help either. It sucks. Looked him up on YouTube and there's several rappers using the same name!

This song came out a month ago and now every person on it is dead smh:francis:

Is Jeffrey Dammer a hood nickname of someone or are they really shouting out a homosexual cannibal?? :skip:

Why are these guys so starved for attention? Their fanbase is small and their scene gets practically no media coverage anyways.

Philly drill is officially dead
Goofiest most destructive era in the city history

Blumberg Geez dead
BerkStreet ManMan dead
Jae100 dead
Hopout Blick away for murder
Leaf Ward doing a long stretch
G12 Zah locked up
Diamond Street FM got years
Lil Bucks can’t stay out the jails
NSU Sheedo been shot and shot at so many times he’s cooked
Poundside Pop only get booked for interviews to talk about Meek

I can name at least 20 more that’s dead or in jail for a body
Smh

Philly rap need to go another route. They need to go the inter-regional collabo route.
I don't know why Philly, DMV and NorCal rappers don't collab? That's a great way to build awareness and fanbase.
Philly and DMV are right next to each other too. It should have been happening. They don't collab with NY rappers either.

We do have an inter regional collab route tho. Our highest profile rapper is Uzi rn and he’s so big he doesn’t care about quality or music really. You got 2Rare but he in the same lane as the Philly goats they make hip shaking music nothing with substance. Also Philly is a hating ass city so there’s a ceiling to anything we do.

I was more so talking about the non-mainstream rappers. Why is Philly rap is so disconnected from the DMV and NY scenes?

Collabos have always been a proven way to grow buzz. For some reason rappers from the mid-2010s onward stopped caring about that. Even though it's now easier than ever to actually get in touch with an artist from another market to make it happen.

Why is this white dude chronicling all this shyt?

To be fair, Brandon Buckingham and Tommy G have done documentaries on a lot of the overlooked areas where shyt happens....I remember when he came to Hawaii.

Philly rap as a whole has been historically overlooked....plus the shyt that's happening in Kensington has a blind eye turned to it unless it's some poverty porn content.

But when they're in Chicago, they just go to the same old GD, BD and LK hoods. They need to link up with the smaller mobs.

I recently realized something that people been obsessed with Chicago drill since the start of the 2010s, yet there's very little coverage of Chicago politics and gangbanging overall.
Even the prison YouTubers rarely ever interview Illinois state prisoners. Nobody the OGs and leaders from the 1960s to 90s, especially not the smaller mobs. They're dying out and taking their stories and history with them.

Despite them all being within a 4 hr drive from each other. DC,Baltimore,Philly and NYC are vastly different worlds.

Philly rappers have always had to go to NYC to get on, and that's more by virtue of the labels being in NYC.

Not to mention, a lot of these cats can't even get on the radio in their own cities, aren't getting booked for shows....they're just shooting videos and recording music in hopes it catches steam on youtube or IG...or will get them a No Jumper interview
