I was expecting a slow, menacing start. Which we got. I was also expecting a rather climactic finish. Which....let's just say, battling clearly isn't his lane, and that was actually a rather goofy first attempt for the self-proclaimed 'greatest ever'.
.
Shocking if he truly thinks
this will undo anything whatsoever. I'm partly a fan still and willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on what I would imagine would be his last hurrah as an authentic hip-hop artist with a second response. As it stands, Drake is
losing here.
He should've taken a page out of Nas' playbook and 'pretended to go all out' like Nas on the
Stillmatic Freestyle, which had dope wordplay BTW, elicited an emotional and angry response from Meek and Flex, then capitalized off that, but personally I think that can be attributed to his team or lack thereof, and their unwillingness to be completely honest with this dude. Everyone around Nas at the time probably made sure he understood his entire CAREER was on the line...I get the feeling Drake sees this as fleeting, which is ill-equipped and complacent.
One last chance Aubrey...then that's it for me.
