Same thing happened to my PS2


it stopped reading CD based games (Like Tekken Tag Tournament) but could still read DVD based games (which was 98% of all PS2 games)


Took the PS2 apart swiped the lens with a Q tip and now everything works fine now (both cd and dvd based games work)


Copped it in 2000 at Launch and still works fine as of 2012, was playing FFX and God of War II on it last week
