RIP to a white ally who was killed by police during a protest. Her name was Sarah Grossman.

I'm pretty sure the cops shooting tear gas into crowds didn't have any intentions of killing anyone (that's why it's tears gas). This was simply a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time with underlying health issues. This wasn't a heinous and unjustifiable killing like some blacks go through with cops. It's not comparable. It is unfortunate though.

Excuse me, but what the Hell are you writing. Tear gas is banned in warfare by the Geneva Convention, but these a$$hole cops are using it liberally on American citizens. Did you even stop to even ask yourself why are they using chemical weapons against their own citizens in this country that they could not even use against enemy combatants in warfare? Of course it was intentional.

Chemical Weapons Convention and 1925 Geneva Protocol, ban use of tear gas in warfare
"...The 1925 Geneva Protocol categorized tear gas as a chemical warfare agent and banned its use in war shortly after World War I. The protocol was signed at a conference held in Geneva and took effect on Feb. 8, 1928, according to the United Nations website.

However, the text of the protocol did not go into depth on what gases were banned.

Under the protocol, the United States reserved the right to use riot control agents in cases of controlling rioting prisoners of war, situations where civilian casualties can be avoided. The U.S. could also use it in rescue missions to recover isolated personnel and outside of combat zones to “protect convoys from civil disturbances...”

Fact check: It's true tear gas is a chemical weapon banned in war
Tear gas has been banned in warfare. Why do police still use it?

I feel like it’s split as well because you have some really bringing up the history of everything we went through and how the racism needs to end, but then you have others who point out the police brutality that happens to other races (which is way fewer) and talk about police reform.

I agree.

For real, for everybody everywhere (protests, TV, Twitter, real life) talmbat
“we just need to sit down and have conversations and/or start listening to each other”
- this is the kinda thing we need to “have conversations” and “listen” about.
It’s still unclear who all wants to do that, though.

CDC | Fact Sheet: Facts About Riot Control Agents

Straight from the government website.

Sounding pretty legal to me. The shyt is found in mace and used on military trainees when they enter the gas chamber. It's not meant to kill. It's an irritant meant to temporarily disperse. If it was deadly and killed it wouldn't be so regularly used to disperse rioters and crowds but it is because it's standard. Now I'm sure they have gas out there that does kill but the shyt they use on civilians is not. You can cherry-pick your facts all day.

Military trainees get physical examinations before they ever enter boot camp, so any underlying medical condition they may have is usually found before they ever enter a gas chamber. Many protesters are aged or ill and likely have underlying physical ailments, so using an irritant on them could aggravate that. It sounds like you are defending the police using chemical agents on American civilians that is otherwise banned in warfare against enemy combatants. Your MAGA is showing.

You didn't disprove my point. And stop with the binary thinking. I must be one thing because I'm not agreeing with you.

You sound like an emotional female

You are that that thing. You are clearly MAGAt, which means that you are an emotional female because all y'all so called tough guys ever do is to whine about shyt like little girls. That is the shyt that so strange. You so called fake tough guys continually whine and you all never take responsibility for shyt. Real men don't do that shyt.

You are clearly for the use of tear gas on people. Hopefully it will be used on you some day.

:picard:

They need to crowd them all of them in a room, toss one in and barricade the door.

:patrice: Im surprised any military brehs aint pointed this out.

Most civilians dont know this but in basic training they put everybody in this room with tear gas and you gotta breathe that shyt in. No mask, no nothing. Cant remember how long it was but when they finally let everybody out we were all fukked up but nobody died.

Based on my experience I dont think tear gas alone killed her. She was outside we were locked in a room.
