after the first initial few hours his death hasn't really been big at all...not getting the treatment even close to MJ's

Rip though

keep in mind mj had a lot of hoopla going on in his life, unlike prince. and as you know the media wanted to feast off that

I don't know what telescope setting you're using to look at the world but cities didn't do anything comparable for MJ

Someone in here said he has 1000 unrelased tracks, not quite so, try over 15000!!!!
Honestly I don't even care about unreleased tracks. I find that quite tasteless the way people already scrounging for his shyt like 2 pac. This man should be honoured for
A year before we even start seeing people tryna eat off him.

I think with mj it was a lot of controversy to go with it. Prince was almost a religious figure. The amount of respect he garnered reminded me of Muhammad Ali. Start your career off radical and controversial. Then as time passes you become respected and people see how dope u were. Prince was probably the most loved living artist. Had universal respect. There is no scandal to pick apart. Just a chill goodbye in many ways. Doesn't have to be like mj. Dude was his own man.

The difference between Prince & MJ - in regards to the timing of their deaths is that Prince productivity and output level is as high as ever - with 4 albums in the last 18 months and he was working on more

Also Prince can posthumously surpass MJ

I didn't want to say this yet but Prince has the potential to be the greatest posthumous artist of all-time - and I would suspect that his unreleased material is a lot more finished and put together than any other artists a majority of which would feature less collaborators and sampling so there will be very little red tape on getting his work out in it's original form

Keep in mind how large his catalog is now, it's been said over 70% of his work is unreleased. Conservative estimates say there's about 2,000 unreleased songs

SMDH @ Prince never getting a Star on the Walk of Fame.

:martin: 7 Grammys and Oscar and Golden Globe, 100 Million plus albums including Diamond album.

You know whats crazy breh? Janet got a Star on the Walk of Fame after Rythm Nation. I mean it was her 2nd straight classic after her first 2 albums were lukewarm but....that is insane when you think about it.

SHE would eventually go on to become a legend and Rhythm Nation is probably most iconic album of the 80s after Thriller and Purple Rain....but there is no way why she should have gotten that recognition before Prince.

Think Prince just didn't want to pay for the star and yearly maintenance cost :manny:
