Kevin Samuels is not as important to the black community as his followers are making him out to be. I liked some of his old videos about style and he used to call out both men and women in his earlier videos. The problem with Kevin is he became popular like a lot of online “gurus” by selling a life he’s never lived. I have uncles around his age and older who have money, some are bitter divorces but most are married. Kevin was not rich and I don’t believe he started making money until about a year ago. YouTube doesn’t pay people out big amounts of money like the vloggers want us to believe. The ones who make a killing in this day and age have sponsors. YouTube keeps most of your revenue from views and superchats. And did Kevin ever have in person events? That shows me he knew to hide who he really was. I saw the video of him arguing with his landlord about his car leaking oil. I don’t know much about BMWs but I bet if he were around moneyed black men his age and he pulled up in a noisy BMW while they drove something better or have nice, well maintained newer cars they’d see that’s up. Kevin saw taking extreme views would garner him more fame and fortune. He was out here living a lie like so many people online.
And the snippets I saw of the funeral looked sad, it wasn’t a lot of people there. For him to have such a big following I would have expected more friends or people to show up. The church wasn’t full of flowers. Kevin lived a lonely life offline and pulped himself up big when he logged in. This online posturing for pay has got to stop.
