Dude was the epitome of cool in every film he was in. The ending to Thief with Tangerine Dream blasting in the background is hitting a bit harder right now. R.I.P. to a legend.

Sonny Corleone aside, Thief is the first movie comes to mind when I think of James Caan. Surprised I've never heard any rappers sample the monologue he gives in the car.

RIP to a legend

Obviously Sonny in the GODFATHER was his most notable role.

James though was one of those actors, that could be very tough... but also emotionally sensitive. Like with Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Steve McQueen... they were the stereotypical macho, manly actors that couldn't even show emotion. James could at one point be very violent, but the same time show a depth of sadness at his anger, he could be vulnerable.

RIP James... him and Ray Liotta passing away this year.

RIP! Fukk first Ray now him

He’s been in a lot of good movies that get overshadowed by Godfather but Sonny was just such a iconic role in an iconic movie that if that’s the only movie he ever did he’d still be a legend

This one hurts like Liotta did.
