Aww man One Love was sonically ahead of its time...RIP Legend.
Great song man. Whodini got straight to the point.. no need for complex rhyme schemes and that other crap.. Just kicking game that we all could understand. I liked them as a kid, but didn’t really appreciate them until I became an adult.

Whodini, Run DMC, LL, and Fat Boys were like the first rap artists that I listened to and knew all the lyrics to their songs at 7/8 years old. People forget, as far as popularity, Whodini was up there with Run DMC as the first breakout Hip Hop superstars in the mid 80’s.
Yes, they were one of the groups that broke down the radio, music video doors for everyone else.

damn...rip

I have specific memories of falling in love with rap early...this song represented one of them...it was on the B-side of the ‘friends’ 7” vinyl...the instrumental was also the intro for ‘video music box:(

That's where I saw all the Whodini videos:wow:

To me Ralph McDaniels is as important as Kool Herc, Flash, etc. He doesn't get his due. Can't forget The Vid Kid.
