Thinking about it, Chyna's true addiction was to be thought of as a Woman.

Basically when Trips left for Stephenies poon, it made Chyna insecure internally, thinking that she wasn't beautiful as a woman. Not to knock Chyna, but Stephenie was a better looking female. Still though Chyna could have any man she wanted to, but I guess when Triple H left her, it just set her up for self-destruction.

She did porn because she wanted to showcase she was a gorgeous woman with muscles. Still though that couldn't fill the void, and when Stephenie forced her out, it just sent her deeper. She gets into drugs and she wrestles still, but the heartache from the split just stuck with her.

She was a gorgeous woman, especially during her Eddie years, just the pain of being her self-image did her in. Very sad to see her die, but as stated, her soul can rest now.

When I first read this I was really sad and now I'm just so fukking mad. Chyna was unique in the WWE and no other female wrestler has ever been able to do what she did. She had an interesting perspective on the business and wrestling stories that no one could relate to that now we'll never be able to hear because the WWE front office is full of petty c*nts.

And now there will be DVDs and merch and they'll make bank off her memory and will act like they didn't straight destroy her career but couldn't show her the respect she deserved when she was alive.

She died not fully realizing how much she meant to the business and to fans across the world and for someone who loved wrestling as much as she did, that's probably one of the saddest things about this whole ordeal

Professional wrestling is a crazy business so I'm not usually surprised when a wrestler dies at a young age. The only deaths that have surprised me were Owen Hart's and Chris Benoit and that was due to how they died. Chyna's really has me in shock. It's a damn shame that politics kept her out of the HOF while she was alive. There is no reason Joan Lunden, Donald Trump, Snoop Dogg, Drew Carey, etc should be in the HOF before her. Yes they're celebrities and the HOF is "fake" but she busted her ass to get where was. She played a huge role in professional wrestling and gave creditability to women wrestlers.

RIP Chyna:mjcry:

Chyna got more of a male accepting response than Steph ever got at any point. In the eye of the beholder and Cripple H got her trying to be Chyna 2.0 with her man like transformation. That Chyna PLAYBOY ISSUE sold big time when it came out...I think more than any WWE female who ever did it. She was attractive to someone in 99.

Absolutely terrible news to wake up to. RIP. Can't believe she didn't get one last hurrah on the big stage.
Yea man this one hurts big time, when she left WWE in early 2001 I never would've thought that it would be her last time ever being associated with the company. I always believed some how some way she'd find her way back to WWE eventually, like they always do. She really deserved to be celebrated as a HOFer in the WWE while she was still alive. Now her posthumous induction is going to be forced by WWE as a means of damage control to make themselves look like the heroes out of all of this.

It might sound TERRIBLE to say, but this got me thinking like they really have to get Kurt Angle in the HOF asap. Don't wanna just take it for granted that he'll always be around to accept his induction. If he doesn't get the roses while he can still smell them, as a fan I'll never be able to recover from the sadness and regret.

From Meltzer
Joanie "Chyna" Laurer, a major part of the WWE in the late 90, was found dead in her home today at the age of 45.

No further details are available.

Laurer was a bodybuilder/fitness competitor who trained under Killer Kowalski, using the name Joanie Lee when she was introduced as HHH's bodyguard after WCW had expressed interest in her but Kowalski pushed her to WWE.

She was instrumental in taking HHH, who had struggled getting over despite a major push, to becoming a major star. The two became a couple which was both a blessing to her career and eventually a curse.

When HHH garnered power, Laurer was heavily protected and booked to go evenly with guys. There were very different opinions, as many of the male wrestlers didn't like selling for her or that she was being pushed heavily. She was even given the IC title from Jeff Jarrett the day after Jarrett's contract expired, which enabled Jarrett, with leverage, to hold WWE for a significant amount of money, believed to be in the $200,000 range, to get him to do the job.

She was a major remembered star of the era, at a time when the mainstream popularity of pro wrestling was at its high point.

After HHH and Chyna broke up, her political protection was gone which led to issues. She wanted to continue wrestling men, but those in power in WWF at the time made the decision that they had made a mistake in allowing it in the first place and would only allow her to wrestle women.

She was a popular character, including posing in a best selling issue of "Playboy."

In 2001, when her contract expired, she was let go. Those in WWE at the time claimed she was asking for money at the level of Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson, and that she also wanted a lighter schedule to pursue acting. But it was probably a combination of being uncomfortable with her around. She claimed she met with Vince McMahon about Stephanie dating HHH, and from that point on, WWE stopped using her. There was a directive from the top not to sign her when the contract expired.

From there, her life and career largely went South. She had problems with drug addiction, which she vehemently denied. Her credibility in interviews was bad, even by wrestlers standpoints, making claims like everyone in pro wrestling but herself was doing steroids, and made claims against former boyfriend Sean Waltman which led to him to threaten legal action.

New Japan brought her in to do the role of beating men. Antonio Inoki pushed her hard as an attraction, and she even was given a win over a young Hiroshi Tanahashi. But she didn't get over and the run ended.

She popped in and out of wrestling, but never returned to WWE. She did a sex tape with Waltman and then started appearing in a number of porn films. She want to Japan for several years and taught English, and claimed that a multitude of people had asked to marry her. She returned to the U.S. and seemed to want to get back with WWE in some capacity, but the company steered clear of her.

Chyna definitely deserved to receive her roses while she could smell them so to speak. In a perfect world she should have been the one presenting the new title at Wrestlemania, we obviously don't live in a perfect world but still. If anyone deserved to be able to walkout and say "we aren't divas we are women wrestlers" it's her. And that's no slight to Lita
There's absolutely no reason she shouldn't have been featured in the women's revolution in a major way. She is the first (and often times, only) woman to have accomplished so much stuff. She routinely interacted with the men on a legit physical level where it didn't look ridiculous.
