IMO they need to change Smackdown to something else. There's already a connotation of it being the lesser of the two shows, and with this new deal and them most likely merging the two brands back together, they really should look into a name change for something fresher.
And no wonder they are concerned about ratings. Reading the results last night and it looks like the show was atrocious. Icy hot jokes in 2019? Did Vince just discover Revenge of the Nerds? If they merge Raw & Smackdown again, they are going to have to consider a talent purge given their current trouble with getting everyone on a brand-specific show.

the brand split is one of the few things good about WWE right now. Smackdown for the most part has been a good show since 2016.
