Yes men take care of ya health, my dentist the other day took my blood pressure. Numbers were high as hell, those numbers told me I needed to change things alot. See as black men we got so much on our mind even if it isn't on our mind .We got to talk about what stresses us out !police, life in general, polictics, job loss, women). Kobe died at 41,Chadwick 43. Most of us in here are our close to those ages or little more then halfway. Society gives us low lifespans because they don't think we can take care of ourselves . On another note got to tell folks you love them and quit beefin over bullshyt.Wild out here

Thank goodness he didn't let the internet mold or control him.

Dude literally was fighting for his life, creating art and working hard while the internet was clowning him at every turn about his weight.

Goes to show you what's real and what doesn't matter.

I hope people can at least learn empathy out of this situation.

Exactly. You never know what people are going through so be kind and respectful. I’m comforted knowing he’s not suffering anymore. He can be at peace.

True.
But it's also true that as a public figure, when you're out there and everyone can tell you're not looking well, just giving a simple public statement can kill a lot of that talk.

They need to decrease the screening age from 45 to 30. Insurance companies probably lobbying against it as we speak.

The thing is, if you don't have a risk factor history within your family, testing very often is not recommended. Because colon cancer grows very slow and colonoscopy's are extremely accurate you would only need one ever 5-10 years. Because there are certain complications that could happen like bleeding, tearing in the colon, infection etc so you don't want to test more often than is actually necessary.

I do think they should lower the age though or at least make it so a person can decide on their own if they want to have it done even when your physician doesn't recommend it.

Or if you know you're not high risk and want to check let's say after 6 years and your insurance covers it ask about other tests that can detect cancer like CT colonography or sigmoidoscopy and if those "easier" tests come back with questionable results you will need a colonoscopy to confirm anyway.

Dapped and repped. Very good information. Especially, how it is only needed every few years because of its slow growth. Key is to catch it early. I would recommend people paying out of pocket in their 20s or 30s if their doctor recommends it. At least if you're insured, you would only pay the contracted rate. From my research, complications from a screening are rare, but they're still advertised.

I’m really disgusted by some of the comments in the other thread about him being sick and losing weight. It’s really sad that so many black peoples are quick to make fun of and tear another brother down. The same thing happened on LSA except even 100x worse just because he married a mixed girl. Man this world is really ducked up. We lost the black mamba and the black panther this year. Let’s use this opportunity so that we learn to always support our own and stop making fun of our celebrities and heroes

That's the internet in general.. because everything is anonymous people feel safe behind their keyboards/phone screens and a lot of people are miserable pieces of shyt and I bet a lot weren't black in those threads either because I see a lot of corny white humor on here.. it's disgusting. Can't speak for LSA but that place sounds toxic.

Anyway, I don't want to devote much time to that. Let's keep it positive.. I can't believe he's gone :mjcry: but his legend will continue through his work and all he gave us and the communities he touched as well.
