I don't want to create another thread because it will seem like I'm just trying to get a plat thread off of this situation, but maybe I'll create it in a couple of days or so.

I did a quick Google search and 2 of the main ways to prevent colon cancer are eating healthy foods (including a lot of greens) and getting regular exercise.

I would have to assume that these were 2 things that were definitely part of his lifestyle. Still, he fell victim to this horrible disease. I'm extremely shocked.

Obviously, I'm not saying that we all shouldn't try to do these two things more, but it just goes to show you that even when things seem perfect, you never truly know when it's your day to go.

R.I.P., the only positive here is that it is supposedly a very painful disease, so at least now he won't have to suffer any longer.

Gotta play the averages and try to find a way to live healthy which has a lot of factors, nutrition, sleep, stress, etc. To your point though, when it’s time ain’t much you can do.

Yep, co-workers daughter passed away two years ago from leukemia at like 6 years old. Made it less than 5 months after diagnosis. Compare that to the office manager I mentioned. Cancer don’t give a damn, it’s truly horrible.

fukk y’all are scaring me... my son has to get an endoscopy in two weeks because of his health issues this year. I’m terrified about a bad diagnosis. It’s like you go in thinking things are one way and receive a death sentence that you didn’t see coming.

Black panther and the black Spider-Man gave young black boys like my son a superhero to look up

My daughter is half dominican (my side) and PR/west indian (her mom side). Since she saw into the spiderverse Miles morales has been her favorite superhero. Thats all she wants to be every halloween, she even loved black panther, shes been shouting wakanda forever since infinity war. She has a tomboy streak but it is what it is

A lot of people dont realize just how significant it was to have those two super heroes, they meant everything to kids who look like them and come from those relatable backgrounds

Cancer is no fukkin joke. I had basil cell carcinoma that had to be removed this year. Wear sunscreen because black folk get skin cancer too, you arent immune because you got melanin. Take care of yourselves and don't take anything for granted
