That Gladiator 2 screenplay might be my favorite screenplay of all time. I don't know what logic possessed Hollywood to ask Nick Cave to write a Gladiator sequel, but that is precisely the kind of Gladiator sequel you would expect Nick Cave to write.

:russ:

But seriously, Scott just needs to give it up. Dude is getting pathetic with holding on to his past glory.

Gladiator 2 Script Review

One of the gathered is JUBA (Djimon Hounsou’s character). They embrace, drink and catch up…Juba listens, dumbfounded. He presents Maximus with a gift: the totemic figurines of Marius and Maria buried at the end of the first film. He recently retrieved them after learning that the Emperor will be flooding the Coliseum for a match involving alligators.

This movie would've been some GOAT level fukkery :wow:

please god no ridley..no..just no.

I'm always down for more Alien fukkery so I have no problem with what he's doing on that front as long as he maintains quality (I loved prometheus despite its flaws) but please don't tarnish Gladiator. I love that film.

I'm not singling you out, you just happened to be the last post echoing this same sentiment. Serious question: where does this idea that a sequel or remake of a classic can do damage to said classic come from? I genuinely don't get the logic. I'm not asking for, nor have I ever desired, a sequel to Gladiator. But if it happens and it sucks, so be it. I can pop in the Gladiator dvd or catch it on AMC when it's on and still love it regardless.

Prometheus was dope, fukk the haters, btw:wow:

A Ridley Scott directed God of War adaptation could be dope, doe:patrice:
