Asked Sunday if he planned to start Ridder for the remainder of the season, Smith was noncommittal.

“That’s been the plan. Nothing is ever set in stone,” he said. “You have to adjust and adapt. We need to win.”

Yep cause Justin Fields has lit it up in Chicago, great suggestion breh
We have the worst play caller in the nfl in Luke getsy even worse than Arthur Smith honestly if the bears wasn’t picking in the top 2 I don’t even think Ryan poles entertains the idea of drafting a quarterback Justin isn’t perfect he does on the ball too long at times and lock in on DJ Moore instead of going to the next progression but with Luke getsy calling plays no one would be successful. He is literally Matt Nagy 2.0

Arthur Smith is the worst coach in the NFL. With the talent on that roster, that team should have 10 wins, at least.

I can understand bringing along Bijan Robinson slowly. But by October it was clear he should have been a 3-down back dominating all the carries. He fumbles yesterday and doesn't see another carry for the rest of the game? Why? Seriously, why? You thought Cordarrelle Patterson and his Mr Potatohead reconstructed body was supposed to lead you to victory against the worst team in the NFL?

Drake London has 58 catches on the year -- one fewer than Jakobi Meyers and Tyler Boyd....and Meyers is the Raiders number two receiver and Boyd is the Bengals NUMBER THREE receiver. This guy is 6'4, 215 lbs. He should have 140 targets by now, not 87.

Say what you want about Kyle Pitts. There's a good chance he's not totally healthy and he's disappointed given his draft position. But how much of the blame is his and how much is this god awful coaching staff that refuses to air the ball out and get it into his hands underneath coverage? They make this guy run practice sprints every Sunday for nothing. Every other week you see 1 or 2 plays where Jonnu Smith breaks free for some 30 yard gain and the announcers are wowed and talk about how great he is and what an amazing call Arthur Smith made with that play call. No, you idiot. That play should have been called for Pitts, who's the better, younger athlete.

I don't know how Falcons fans aren't outright rioting and burning the stadium to the ground. Watching this team get so little out of its talent is like having a race car that never leaves the garage.

The Falcons should fire this idiot and bring in Dave Canales or throw the bag at Kellen Moore.

The biggest problem with Arthur Smith is he does trust his QB's he puts them on waaaaay too short of a leash.

Of course the ATL
To be fair, he’d be a much better version of Ridder. He has actually had multiple good games in the league. Chicago has not been kind to him FO wise. However, he ain’t the answer especially since he’d only do well in AS’s system. He’s got the running ability and can hit receivers most of the time instead of none of the time like Ridder

Breh Justin Fields complained this season about “too many voices” in his head to start the season from his own coaching staff. Our own OL Kaleb McGary made a comment earlier this year about how so much has to go right for this offense to work. There’s no way on earth Justin Fields succeeds in a similarly complicated and restrictive offensive system here with AS. None.

Breh I already made my views on Justin clear. He’s not a fit in a highly complex, restrictive system that forces him to think a lot and not just be free and play. It’s not a good choice if Arthur Smith is still the coach

And I don’t want to hear about bad play callers with Arthur Smith as HC/offensive coordinator

Ima challenge you on this a bit even tho I mostly agree with you.

Are Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson these dynamic, generational talents who break off explosive plays week after week? No. But I do think they could be maximized by a better coaching staff no question

Y’all are an average QB from being 11-6 even with a bad coach

What your Gm has done to flip this roster from the dumpster fire he inherited is insane

You know I'm not trying to stick with ridder next season, but when you looks at the all22 angles of some of these plays....you got every receiver in the same vicinity.

I mean, it's not to excuse ridder but his coaching did him absolutely no favors. A competent coach could have had him looking like Brock pursy maybe...idk

We need a coaching change, and a QB that matches the coach

If you look at Ridder play he almost looks like he’s still processing the play, like he overthinks a lot of what he’s supposed to be doing. He doesn’t play free and to your point, that’s a result of coaching/overcoaching. He plays like someone is standing over him

Now Ridder ain’t good, but I agree the coaching/QB matchup is awful
