thats something that sex columnist, Dan Savage, had people make up and it caught on....

but Santorum is a blithering idiot for making people think that being a blithering idiot is ok. Now we drew a line in the sand between Intellectual elite/financial elite?

Isn't it usually the intellectuals who mostly try to work for all-encompassing issues that serve and help us all? :leostare:

Alright I listened to it...poor choice of words but he clearly meant "smart" in a sarcastic way

I have a bit of a reason as to why I believe college professors and scientists may stray away from conservative economic thought...the solutions and principles aren't complicated it's based on human nature and trusting market forces and a pool of independent individuals to ultimately be the most efficient and innovative options...where intellectuals have many theories and ways to tinker with society to perfect it in their image and there is a lack of trust with humans as a whole where they would trust only those who have earned some sort of education to qualify running society and making decisions for what they feel is best for society

Sly is really showing the problem Republicans are facing. Dude stop giving this guy a pass...that was so stupid I don't even know where to begin. Instead of laughing at it, it angered me. This is coming from someone who believe the college system in this country needs MAJOR work.

This guy is somewhat taking a shot at the college system...yet he has degrees himself. Is he diminishing his education as well? Exactly wtf is this moron trying to say? We don't see any Presidential candidates from the Republican party going up there with a GED in their hand.

He did not misspeak...he is just an idiot.

It goes back to trusting the market to reach proper equilibrium and that means less centralized planning

There is nothing wrong with educating yourself and building a skill set id encourage everyone too young and old...

But for instance having the government forcefully save your retirement instead of trusting individuals to make their own decisions on investing their retirement or at least the option has shown to be a less efficient model because those "elite central planners" who were supposed to ensure social securites solvency went into the pot to fund other central programs have left it close to bankrupt...where an individual can make more money with their retirement if invested even conservatively in th market

lol I've often told people during political discussions that I'm liberal/progressive because I'm not stupid and I'm not religious. Good to see a spokesperson for conservatives seems to acknowledge the same determining factors.
