For the first time, Ross talks about his past life as a corrections officer – an opportunity, he says, to “wash my hands” after his best friend was sentenced to 10 years for trafficking cocaine and heroin:

“This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted,” says Ross. “My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a f**king corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere

Dude knows he can get away with telling the truth now that its apparent the general public don't give a fukk about authenticity. He lied at 1st claiming an OG told him to take the job to smuggle in drugs. Now he's saying it was between this and being a firefighter to stay out of trouble despite the fact he never went to jail or been arrested. Dude is a fraud and yall accept it. Shame on all of you.

its 2 late now. exactly wat u said. he realizes the public doesnt care, plus when u r rich and successful your past kinda doesnt matter anymore. fake it til u make it. he made it, so now who cares. its like if jay-z came out and said he only said he sold drugs because it sounded cool, its too late now!!

I mean in this current state of hiphop Drake and Kanye are considered tough guys and can get away with goon talk. In the 90's these nikkas would be in the same lane as Arrested Development(did anybody see their unsung episode?) or Digable Planet. Ross knew he could tell the truth and this soft ass fanbase would accept it now. Dude used to check nikkas a$$holes daily for a living and yall accept him as being a kingpin.

We know he's a fraud, and quite frankly, we don't give a fukk. No different than Dre going from dressing up as a faggy ballerina to a weed smoking "OG." At the end of the day, we not fans based on their personal lives, we fans based on MUSIC. You people who can't enjoy someone's music because of their personal life (fraud or real, don't matter), were probably the same ones as kids reading People magazine laying down with your legs crossed in the air. Not defending him, but my cousin was a C.O. and he was making 10,000 a month..in cali..never been in trouble. Im just sayin that its not far fetched for a guy with no history to be a drug dealer.

I'm callin :duck: on this too. The salary for a CO ain't no gottdamn six figures. Now if he was the warden then I can believe it, but a CO is not a high paying job. Especially given the risks involved. Your cousin must have been dirty or something right?

ive got buddies that done hard time and when i ask em about ross being a former c.o they honestly dont give a shyt. most of them c.o's in there are just as cut throat as the inmates. offering nikkas to shoot a fair one, bringing dope in from outside. im not saying ross was doing this but people need to stop assuming a c.o is the same as a police officer out on the streets
