Dee-1 been out here bringing light to the plight of his N.O. community and the hip-hop community for a while. The breh been about holding himself and others accountable, always have been.

I understand that it looks like he chasing a viral moment, and the truth is, that's exactly what he's doing. If he can catch more ears, he can touch more souls.

Not my method of bending peoples ears, but I ain't mad at him.

Dee-1 (Thee One) is from New Orleans his people is out the 9th Ward from what he said once I believe in a interview (hella wild ass area in NOLA btw but it simmered down a bit). Hes did songs with Mannie Fresh and He actually did a song call Jay, Weezy, 50 where he called them out many years ago. This is really nothing new by bruh






Him and Lupe and Big KRIT are like best friends.



He's also cool with Starlito and MURS (he actually started in a Movie with MURS). Before rapping he was a teacher and taught at L.B Landry School in NOLA and taught at Harvard University....it's another school he taught at as well too where Fredo Bang was one of his students. He won teacher of the year in the District and all that stuff.




Imo he's solid as a person and an okay artist but he comes across hella hella preachy for most. think someone like Shareef Character from Menace II Society but hardcore Christian times 20. (No dis to anyone in here of Christian faith btw). The crazy thing is him and Lecrae who's like a hardcore Christian himself had a disagreement that was bubbling on IG prior to this.

I thought he was dope years ago when that Weezy, Jay, 50 song came out. But when I listened to an album it was waaaayyy too much Christian preach bullshyt in there for me. I don’t get why 5%ers and Muslims seem to be able to make Hip Hop without bashing you over the head with everything but Christian’s seem unable to make one verse without mentioning god and Jesus and all that shyt it’s so corny and annoying. The fact that we call music about killing each other "just entertainment" is a reflection of our own sickness as a collective.

Imagine a J*wish rapper making a song about killing and spinning the block on other J*ws.

The song would be immediately scrubbed from the internet and that rapper would be outcasted from the community.

But over here we praise and worship them.

1. I’m not an impressionable kid/kid-minded adult who looks up to these clowns so this poison they feed the masses has absolute-zero influence on me. Kids look up to these dummies…I did too as a kid.

2. I listen to like 4 rappers sir, literally…and none of them are gangsta rappers, you’re talking to the wrong guy.

…I do like battle rap tho so I guess you kinda right (actually you’re not because how is my grown ass listening part of the problem? Lol, I don’t buy/stream battles, I don’t contribute anything monetarily to this shyt…but alright)…

I’m only listening for the skills tho, they’re the best of the best with the rapping…I hold my nose while watching because of the content, they’re all fake ass killers too, but I appreciate the lyricism. .
