It really isnt just Ross who just does this, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt I think alot of the times Ros does it doesnt really work too well because like you said unlike Drake he doesnt really change his vocal structure too much. Drake switches from rapping and singing and at least A$AP uses that lil screwed voice effect.
