I wanted to dap this post until you thanked Rick. now if he actually contributes to poor people then I got love for him but there's nothing worse than the people who want to "bring awareness" without bringing any tangible solution.

If nikkas wanna bring cameras around but not actually solve the problem then I got no love for them. That's some KONY2012 bullshyt.

Now if he actually does it the way you want it done.

Man please. No one said this was to solve a problem. It's simply exposing one.

The Nigerian authorities are mad......GOOD.

On the real, as an Black American, I thought Nigeria was one of the more well off countries in Africa. I know mad Nigerians here doing well, and still keep in touch with their folks back home. The picture was always painted from them that Nigeria aint the same Africa as the help a child commercials we see on TV. Of course their is poverty everywhere, but I'm talking in general.

You prove my point.

Those are elitist Nigerians that you know who are doing well. The educated ones who do NOT reflect the average Nigerian but stay fronting as if everyone is living like them back home.

I thank GOD that my parents, with their education, being a part of the royal family in Ife, NEVER ignored the realities of how most people there are living.

I thank GOD my father was best friends with Dele Giwa who was assassinated by the Nigerian government exposing the truth about the level of corruption that creates those conditions in Nigeria.

Don't get me wrong....not all of Nigeria is like Lagos, one of the most populated cities in the world, but it isn't all good like many Nigerians come here and front about.

The shyt is extremely annoying.

Okay, so Ross makes this video, then what.

Just to clarify...this has nothing to do with "What will the westerners think". I've never been one to worry about how Im viewed from outside the community looking in. All my posts on this forum reflect that. Also, I wasn't one of those fortunate Nigerians that grew up with money. I came up rough. That's why Im offended. nikkas been on that"bring awareness" bullshyt for a minute. In all them years of "bringing awareness" how much change has come from it. Most of the issues in society don't happen by accident, therefore, it is not really a secret.

Honestly I thought it was corny for Ross to do the original video out in New Orleans...why? because after the video crew leaves all the people are still disenfranchised and they are still dealing with the same issues.

Personally, I think he only shoots these hood videos for the image...like he's really about the people. Cool. If Ross is for the people, actually put your money where your mouth is. He worth $25 Ms, then put a couple dollars up to build a school. Fund a rec center.

If you gonna be bout the people, then ACTUALLY BE about the people. This is no different than politicians going to the hood shaking hands and kissing babies, but as soon as they are in office they ignore the needs of the poor and act like they don't exist.

Then what nothing. It's what Nigerians need to make out of it. They need to stop acting like these folks don't exist and be wililn got embrace them.

Like I said, the beauty I learned in this country is that blacks aren't on that to the degree they are back home. I'm honestly shocked Rick did this video and is unlike him. I just don't get the "well...if you didn't do this, you shouldn't have filmed the video."

That's BS. I've never seen the Biafra war even talked about in here until this video.

No research that.

You're shocked Rick Ross did this video and its unlike him? What are you talking about? Hes done this a few times for the sole purpose of showing how gangsta he is. It makes him look like a "boss" if he's out there with the people who look like savages to people who arent familiar with it.

Props to him for Showing love and droppin some dough though.
This reminds me of those scenes in movies where Drug Dealers give turkeys out in the hood. Good gesture but the motives are a bt sketchy.
Guarantee the Directors told the older guys to wild out and act angry

Its funny that Nigerians on twitter and facebook are mad about the video. I have been to Nigeria 6 times. This video is childs play compared to the despair and poverty there. Go to the Niger Delta and its even worse. People bathing oil contaminated water. The Welcome to Lagos video is more in depth of what some people do to survive everyday. Nigerians have to understand that Nigeria as a country is joke to the rest of the world. If it wasn't for the oil, Nigeria would be as relevant as Bangladesh.

LOL @ going to hood demonstrating how gangsta he is.

You know why nikkas in the NO embraced Ross for the original video out there? Because none of their own bother to come back and show love. When was the last time you seen a YMCMB video shot in NO?

It doesn't matter if Jesus himself got on TV and vouched for Ross, nothing he does will change your perception of him.

So if he can't change that, when he goes to chill in Haiti, the NO projects or the un-seen parts of Nigeria...is he doing that to be cool or he really just doing that because he wants to show love?

Smh. My cousin was bumping this weak shyt earlier. I thought the track was skipping. All dude says is these whatever can't hold me back. Annoying as fukk. Dude has shown no growth on his past few albums. Pause. Dude thinks just cause he hangs out with a few drug dealing artists (who are weak as fk by the way) that makes him this super thug. Dude is and always has been whack as fukk.
