Richard Sherman was never a hero. He's a business, just like every other NFL player (with some exceptions). He has a brand. Always has. His brand is of the "He Hate Me" variety and the of the NFL- not Muhammed Ali or Tommie Smith/John Carlos. And it was never a good look for his brand or marketability to antagonize and directly target the main consumers of the entertainment he provides (NFL=White people). Even though they should be and need to be antagonized and challenged he's not the one to do it.
