When I think GOAT i think impact, success, dominance, popularity...every big artist isn't an entertainer, and pop wise, being a good singer isn't necessarily a requirement, and defintiely not songwriter.

This thread itself is misleading. Rihanna and madonna are just super pop stars. but when it comes to artistic qualities, Madonna (and Rihanna) are not GOATs. Madonna is not mediocre either but there are a bunch of females artist (in the mainstream) ahead of her.

I don't know what you're defining as artistic abilities - writing? Singing? Playing an instrument? If just confining it to that space, then yea, but Madonna is crazy creative, visionary, innovative, and a risk taker, all of which are artistic qualities to me.

I mean when we're discussing pop stars, it's not really about talent. Sometimes you get the whole package - gaga (writes, composes, can sing, and is an entertainer) - the semi whole package - beyonce - just the singer - Mariah and Whitney - or just the star - rihanna. All these women, along with folks like Janet and Madonna, are GOATs. that's why I evaluate people like them on more than just singing, dancing, writing because it takes more than just talent to be that big. If this thread was about jazmin Sullivan, I'd be thinking about GOAT singers, but because it's about rih, I'm thinking about GOAT pop stars which encompasses the talented to the "non-talented".

More than white people like her, and em is a GOAT star, Madonna is a GOAT pop star, the same land as rihanna. No one would call Madonna, or rihanna, a GOAT r&b/soul singer (i.e. The way you don't put em as a GOAT of hip hop), but they are all time stars, I don't see how you can argue against that. (Other than you seeming to have a problem with time being white )
